   The Yangtze River Delta
The Yangtze River Delta, the most developed area in Mainland China, is the first stop for the entry of FDI in China. Ningbo, contiguous to Shanghai, as an important economic hub in the Southern Yangtze River Delta, is the only one other than Shanghai that enjoys provincial power of economic management among the 16 cities of the Delta.

Port City
Ningbo port boasts the best geographical location in Mainland China, characterized by deep water smooth current, peaceful wave, ice-free and silt-free. Moreover, it is located at the T-shaped crossing point between the Chinese coastline and the Yangtze River golden shipping lines, It is the only port in China capable of berthing and discharging the 300,000-ton cargo vessels. With the advantages of natural conditions and the large import and export trade volume from the vast hinterland, Ningbo port develops at the so-called ?¡ÀNingbo Speed?¡À acknowledged by the international shipping circles. With the highest growth rate in China for 6 years successively since 2000 when its port container throughput was only 900,000 TEU and ranking 67th in the world, it handled over 5.2 million TEU and ranked in 15th worldwide in 2005.
The cargo throughput of Ningbo port reached 270million tons, ranking 11th in the world in 2005,rising from 100 million tons and the 4th position globally in 2000. And the foreign trade volume of Ningbo port totaled US$67.5 billion in 2005. Furthermore , the integrative development of ?¡ãNingbo-Zhoushan Port?¡À will further the progress of ?¡ãNingbo port being a world-class port and secure its position as an international hub port of containers.

    Concept
The construction of CBD will be in line with the trend of economic globalization and take advantage of geographical location and port resources. Taking the eastern new area as its main carrier, and backed up by the port and logistics service, it will be an international stage for exhibition and trade in order to promote international trade and economic cooperation, which will make Ningbo a world-renowned metropolis in port logistics, exhibition, and convention services.

 Target
Basic completion of construction in 2010 of major purchasing base in China for international buyers. Important supply base of import equipment and raw materials for the Yangtze River Delta and even for the Southern Yangtze River Delta.Logistics Service Base of both domestic and international trade . Concentrative base of international marketing organizations servings Zhejiang province and the rest of China as well. Four Major Functions should be initially achieved. Attracting businessmen and client, providing transaction platform, distributing information, and supplying professional services. Ningbo interrnational Trade Mart will be basically accomplished. Till 2020, we build the top-level Mart for international trade in an all-around way.

Project & Plan
RMB 2 billion will be invested to organize and build up Ningbo international Trade & Investment Development Co.,Ltd. To start up the core zones of the Mart project. Ningbo International Exhibition & Convention Center with the land area of 31 hectares and the floor area of 95,000 square meters has been completed and put into use. The first series of the Show Center will be completed and put into use in May 2006. At the end of 2006, we will begin to construct 3 international trade office buildings and 1 four-star hotel.

    About the Permanent Show Cente

   First-Phase Project & Long-term Development Plan
The first phase of Permanent Show Center occupies an area of 2.62 hectares. It has 78,000 square meters of floor space,64,000 square meters of which are above the ground. The building is divided into tow functional areas:

¡é?Show Area, with more than 1400 standard booths, can hold around 300 manufactureing enterprises or trading companies to show and promote their products.

¡é¨° Business Area, with floor area of over 17,000 square meters for office purpose, can accommodate about 200 purchasing & trading companies.

The site of the second phase is now under plan. The exhibition hall area is expected to match that of the first phase. And the rest part of the exhibition & convention area, which covers more than 20 hectares, will be occupied by a high-rise building will be divided into different parts according to different industries and products, so as to land to the east of the convention and exhibition zone will also be utlilized as the expansion.

    Products Orientation of the Show Center

Insisting on specialized products orientation. In the beginning, the first phase mainly exhibits home electrical appliance & electronic products so that within 3 yeas' time, it will serve as No.1 perennial exhibition for Chinede home electrical appliance % electronics products. Along with the development of second, third and fourth phase of the exhibition center, the categories of exhibits will increase to stationery, sports and leisure goods, gifts, handicrafts, machinery and hardware products etc.

   Qualification & Requirements for Entering the Show Center

¡é?Subsidy Policies for Renting Booth:

For enterprises taking booths in the center, the rental fee the first two years can be fully refunded afterwards, and for subsequent 3 yeas, 50% refunded; For enterprises taking offices in the center, the rent for the first two yeas will be charged at 50% of the market rate. And a further preferential offer is available for international purchasing enterprises and the like. Besides, those already taking booths or office in the center can enjoy preferential treatment when the second and third phases are completed.

¡é¨°Taxation Preferential Policies:

Enterprises taking exhibition booths and setting up new imp. & exp. companies with registration address in the Mart can enjoy following preferential policies:

¡é¡ÀStamp duty of purchases and sales contract in import and export business can be exempted in the first 3 yeas;

¡é2Fees for water conservancy construction fund in import and export business can be fully exempted in the first 3 yeas;

¡é¨® Financial support:

Enterprises taking exhibition booths in the Permanent Show Center and setting up new imp. & exp. companies with registration address in the Mart can enjoy a subsidy of not more than 60% of the locally remained part of the paid corporate income tax and VAT within 3 yeas' time based on the enterprise' business scale and contribution to local economy (assessment of total imp. & exp. volume, increasing rate and imp. & exp. ratio through Ningbo port).

 Backup Services of the Show Center

In addition to the living facilities, business services will be provided in the following tow key areas:

¡é?Port administration authorities such as the Customers, Entry-Exit Inspection % Quarantine Bureau will set up branches in the center and provide consultancy services. In the meantime, great efforts will be made to set up comprehensive customs service and even the electronic port terminals to offer one package service, and implement the bonded display of imported exhibits.

¡é¨°Banks and other financial institutions will set up branches in he center so as to provide much convenient and efficient services in bank settlement and foreign exchange check and transaction.
